Default Short Shifter - Where To Buy For Hawkeye In The UK

Hi guys, i've just bought my first Impreza - 2007 Hawkeye WRX in WRB

I love the car, but struggling a little with the gear changes so i'm looking to fit a short shifter.

Does anyone know where you can buy them for a hawkeye in the uk, i've had a good look but can only seem to see them in the US, any ideas?

I'm looking for a Cobb or kartboy.

Many Thanks

I'm in the same boat as adam0161 here. Just bought my first Subaru, 2006 Hawkeye WRX and looking for information on a short shifter.

Can anyone shed some light as to why there are loads available for 2001-2005 but nothing for the 2006-2007 Hawkeyes??

call the guys at www.asptrading.co.uk/

they do kartboy short shifters with bushings. pretty sure they are the same as my 05 sti widetrack. the kartboy is good because it gives you a shorter throw at the same time as making your shifter length shorter.

other than that, you can order the perrin one from tarmac sports or scoobyclinic. This kit requires you to remove the existing ball joint and fit an adjustable one on..so to make the shift a shorter throw, you have to increase the shifter length.

I have tried both (have the perrin ball joint for sale) and find the kartboy the ideal setup but used the perrin front and rear shift bushings which transfer minimal noise into the cabin.

Using the kartboy bushings can cause a lot of vibration in the shifter causing the lift reverse to rattle and it is MASSIVELY annoying..you can get around this a few ways, my way was to buy the perrin lift reverse which fits much neater and looks cool with the perrin shift **** too

PS: fitting the kartboy short shift requires you to get under the car which you would have to do for the bushings anyway. you have to drop the gearbox support out of the way and lower the gearbox a little to access the front busing, the rear bushing was a pig to get on for me. you also have to lock the lift reverse lever on the gearbox so you can get to the cable when fitting.

if you need full instructions I can knock something up for you.
