Just want to know your opinions on the ideal place for a sender for oil temperature.

I know a lot of you use the oil sump bung as mentioned in Nick's (chiark) excellent website and instructions. I vaguely recalling that it is possible to put one above the No. 3 piston and that an allen key screw needs to be removed and replaced with the sender, or something like that.

Did I dream that or can you do it? Which is better to do? My only concern with the sump one is constant removal and replacing on each oil change. If the No. 3 one can be done then I'm assuming once it is in it can just stay there, and also won't need an oil drain to put in in the first place? Which would give a truer reading of oil temperature? Or is there an even better place to put it?

Advice will be greatly received
