I've been looking at Turbo timers and the Blitz Turbo timers look quite good!
Anybody got one, that could comment on it!
Roughly how much should I be paying for the labour thats going on... I know its £135 for the MulitspeedTimer and £60 for the harness...
How long will it take to fit???
Last question and I'll let ya go !
Does anyone know an outlet that stocks them and fits them in the Midlands Region... apart form the one in Briely Hill, who have never fitted one to an Impreza before... which doesn't give me much confidence!

I've got the blitz multispeed timer, its fine.

doubles as a handy boost gauge as well seeing as my sti one tops out at 1.2 bar. Also records highest boost hit which is interesting when you put your car in for a service!

It cost me 2.5 hours worth of labour to fit from memory.....
The only drawback being where you put it, mines velcro'd to that little cubby hole lid on lower right hand side.

They might be very bad news for your insurance, because they mess with the functioning of your immobilisation circuits.

And driving slowly before pulling up apparently gives a better cool-down effect than just letting the engine idle when standing.

I fitted a Dual Turbo Timer (does timing and boost measurement) to my MY00 so I can advise if you wish to do the job yourself.

(I'd have a second-hand one for sale right now but it was impossible to recover it from the wreckage.)

I didn't think that the Multispeed version did boost measurement - at least that's what I was told.

The harness should be cheaper (£15 I think) and doesn't fit but can easily be modified.

You can detatch the front panel of the timer and buy a long ribbon cable so that you canmount the panel on the dash (just below the rev counter) and have the body hidden away with the wiring.

Also make sure that the ECU signal is fitted or else the timer doesn't calculate properly.

Well according to the blurb with mine it does automatic time calculation based on boost used.
or you can set a manual amount of time.

It also records 0-60 and quarter mile times (christ knows how, havent looked at that bit)

max boost used and current boost.

Looks like I was told porkys then. Never mind - I wasn't that bothered about the 0-60 times so the DTT was fine for me.

When I installed mine I first only had the boost pipe connected. I then gave the car a good blast and the maximum time that the timer came up with was 40 seconds.

Then I installed the ECU speed wire and repeated the drive. It went over 1 minute.

Subsequently I found that a prolonged motorway run and use of the turbo made the timer reach several minutes.

Blitz dual turbo timer.
But I only use the timer.
It doesn't take long to install so should not be more than 1hr labour.
I also have had the alarm set up so after a drive I can get out, set the alarm [locking the doors etc] and when the turbo timer stops the alarm does a check and then activates the immobilisers.
If you want to bypass this kind of foolishness, you can get a Clifford Concept 600 installed which has a turbotimer function.
