Should be fairly simple to remove, just put a bit of effort into it, it'll come away exposing the thread for the new **** to go on.

Are all the threads used on gear ***** the same then?
Totally off thread i guess so soz but i wondered like if i get a quickshift will the **** i'm getting from nito still presumably fit?

If it's a Momo **** then it comes with adaptors that push over the thread and is pushed down on the gear shaft, then the **** is done up by allen key bolts which pinch tight on the shaft, I presume most aftermarket gearknobs have a similar way of fitting, otherwise there would be dedicated gearknobs for each brand / model of car.

I turned an adaptor with an internal M12 thread for my '98 turbo from a piece of alloy. It's held on with 3 M5 stainless cap headed allen screws, and the **** is Araldited to it. Rock solid and attractive too. When I get my digi camera up and running, I'll post a photo if anyone is interested.

So that being the case how do u no if the **** or the quickshift will fit then b4 u buy 1?
