Default Young drivers on modified policies.

Bit of advice please.... My 25 year old son and I have got out Subaru project on the road. Its a forged 320bhp type RA. Its been a father/son thing with spending hours in the garage with the aim to use the car for track days and shows in the summer.
Anyways ....... Being an old git I had no problem getting insurance but due to my sons lack of experience with high powered cars I cant get him on the policy at any price (he was on my modified 175BHP RS2000 policy no issues)
what's the best way to get him started? Get himself an entry level scoob?
After a year or so with something like a Ford ST would he be able to get quotes on our RA?

Cheers

NCB held in own name and a year with a policy held on a performance car for a 1 year claim free period will help

It depends on the risk presented and the insurer but for an impreza ideally 4wd turbo experience or at least turbo car experience.

Having said that, he is 25 , he has 5 years NCB so insurance on an impreza should be possible.

Don't know how they are with forged engines and ridiculous mods but I've got my remap, air filter and exhaust mods declared with Elephant, I'm 22, 4 years NCB for 900 quid.

That's interesting, is that a uk car or import. I think standard car policies restrict the amount of modifications allowed. This car has all the mods declared, forged exhaust brakes fmic etc. I've been told uk turbos are easier to insure for young drivers?
Trying to find a decent uk Scooby is hard
