Insurace estimate

Insurace estimate
Well, been around for some scooby insurance for a while as I am looking to change from my EP3 Type R. (Need 4 doors as well) Will be moving into another house in the next few months as well. Some really silly quotes fro for from between £1000-£15000!
Car: 03-04 Blob eye wrx (or ideally sti/WR1 if insurance is not to bad)
Age 36 (will be when I get the car)
6 years NCD
No crashes or anything like that ever
Postcode: BL1
Upto: 6000 miles per year
Experienced driver and I have owed a Lotus elise, mini cooper s and driving a civic type r at the moment.
Don't mind paying around £600-£700 but anything this far is silly considering my age and NCD and history.
Any insurers on here want to give me an idea on how much they can do it for?
Thanks

Would love to know why scoobies are still so expensive to insure compared to other cars ?? appreciatte the higher power etc but surely the vast majority of owners off these cars by there very nature are car enthusiasts who care about there car and there driving. are they still regarded as a highy stealable motor ??- surely just the same as most other cars nowadays ie. without keys they are going nowhere ??!!
so why still so expensive even in some decent post code areas with full ncb a clean licence and off middle age ??
example - 2001 bugeye no mods with a value off just 3k, 41 year old driver / good postcode area / private drive/ full ncb
£550 !!!

You might be suprised how much 'normal' cars can be to insure these days.
I pay £550 for my modified STI, but most companies wanted £400+ for my 1.4 Corsa.
With ourselves Subaru's are one of the best (if not the best) performing cars from a claims point of view, hence we can offer competitive prices.... aslong as you meet certain criteria.

2005 plate 2.5 wrx with all engine etc mods declared worth 5k = estimated quote off around £500- £550
2001 plate 2.0 wrx worth 3k with just the factory supplied PPP = esimated quote off around £500- £550
and now your saying your own STI is £550 ??!!
With this sort off quote what sort off excess would it be ??
obviously dont mind paying a higher excess to bring the annual amount down. anything else that can be done to bring the overall amount down ??
anyway still looking for the car first will hopefully be in touch soon !!
does your own company offer any discount for it being a uk car as opposed to an import ??

I tried to get a quote today frommy insurance broker and I was gob smacked at how much they have gone up
I paid around £320 fully comp for an import around 3 years ago. My quote today for an import was over £900 I wouldn't mind so much but I'm 40 years old and not 20 Even a UK spec was over £800!
Looks like I wont be buying another scoob now then

Id imagine the value of the car isnt the biggest thing they consider on premiums, should you hit a lamborghini with 2 injured passengers id imagine that would be some claim.
My own inusrance is nudging on 1k and whilst id like cheaper i pay it because the car makes me smile each time i get in it and i guess thats what it boils down to in my personal case

Yeah insurance can be a killer for imprezas, but the ins companies take the p*ss. Mine drops £150 by adding the wife but increases by £100 if it has a tracker
Also it is £140 cheaper to insure an sti type r than a 4 door sti
Everyone says jap imports are more expensive to insure, i must say i have found uk models far more expensive to insure (My blob wrx was more than sti type r).
With Admiral (Have been for 7 years now) £640 FC Or £1000 for both cars (X5)

Im 27 now with 7 years no claims (would have 10 but lost a few due to changing policies half way through). Wife been driving 3 years. had my license for 10 years with no points or claims in that time.
My excess is £800 like so this will also decrease it.
Still get quoted stupid money (up to 6k) from some companies.
Dont think my postcode is too bad either. (ab42).
Admiral have been the cheapest by far. (Every year they send in my renewal and i cancel to find a better quote) i always end up phoning them back and accepting their quote in the end
