Hello,
Can anyone tell me if you drive another vehicle thru your
own insurance, does the vehicle you are driving have to be
insured by the owner, or can you drive an uninsured, taxed
and mot'd car.

Thanx in advance,
Dougie.
(posted this in insurance but i could see the tumbleweed go by)

Yes i think you can, if YOUR insurance allows you to drive any other vehicle.

Bear in mind that this is usually only 3rd party cover.

*RUM* will prob clarify this.

Fully comp insurence allows you to drive another vehicle (with owners permission) but only covered for third party.

Vehicle must be taxed and MOT'd...

To get tax you must have insurence on that vehicle, so the vehicle must then be insured by someone else....

Sounded so much clearer when I said it to myself..... and I understand it anyway.

Thnx Guys,
Just to clarify, the other vehicle does not have to be insured?
As there was two different answers to that. My insurance allows me to drive any other vehicle 3rd party.

Dougie.

Read your policy.

You can drive any other car (3rd party) as long as it is insured by someone else.

Thumbs up

Cheers for the replies,
I phoned the police, booo hisss ,
they told me that the other vehicle must
be insured. Think its to stop you from
buying a Ferrari and insuring it under your
cheap runabout(mitsubishi evo or other cars
like that )

Dougie.
