Just got my renewal form through from Adrian Flux. As expected the premium has gone up since last year. Here goes

ME; 27y/o Civil engineer
5 years NCB
3 points fixed penalty
Live in Cumbria

Car; 93 WRX

The quote is £868 with £350xs
I've rung around other places and if they'll quote theyre saying about £1200!!
Think i'll stay where I am.

Cool

I think that Egg are now doing a 'match or beat your renewal premium' deal.

Have a look at

Mark.
Similar to myself with car and age etc (don’t laugh John)
Have you tried A plan on 0845 071 1234.
They were quite a bit cheaper than the rest of them.

Hope this helps
Greg

Yeah and i'll 3rd A-Plan!

I'm 28 and they insure me on my MY99 STi V TypeR V-Limited for just under a grand.

Phoned 'em today re. recent mods. (BB, Filter, Clear Indicators) and there is no additional premium. TOO COOL

Only Bugger is you're not covered for track days but there is always Eggar Lawson .

A-Plan certainly get my vote as I was quoted near on £2K by certain Muppet Brokers.

Cheers
Chris

I'm 26..

I pay just over 1K I think.

Thumbs up

A-Plan were the best for me but worth trying:
Footman James 0121 561 4196
Greenlight Insurance 01277 263030
Keith Michaels 0181 642 7868
Elstree 0181 386 7766

I paid £820 on a MY97 STi, 27yrs

I use Bell Direct as they are consistantly cheaper with the EVO, WRX wagon and the STi.

Top site - Just discovered this after owning my first scooby for 10 months. Happened across you whilst trying to get insurance quotes :-

Age 29
Slightly mod-ed wrx
Lives in Oxfordshire
3 Years NCD

Last Year (Adrian Flux) = £850.00
Re-Newal quote (A.Flux) = £1,800.00 !!!!

Tried A-Plan as mentioned above and accepted a quote for £795.00

Great site, great advice - keep it going all

Hmmmm - thats intersting - Bell Direct told me they did not insure imports

I insured my sti5 with A Plan - not cheap though - but I found very few companies out there that insured the car if it was modified and I have points (to say the least)

The worst by far were Adrain Flux - it took 2 weeks to get thru to them. They said they could not quote less than £2800 - what a joke and I'm 28, with full no claims, never an accident and in a safe car area - never mind eh

Well I have had my WRX wagon with Bell for 2yrs, the STI for 1yr and the EVO for 1yr too, all with Bell. No problems. The Cyborg (another import) is with them too.

Wink

Just insured my type RA with A-Plan and were the cheapest by far. Admiral told me they could insure a normal STi but not a WRX type RA something to do with ABI (Association of British Insurers) codes of which a normal STi has one and the RA doesnt. Apparently they need a UK spec car to base it on and the STi's is the P1 . As Bell and Admiral are part of the same company ( I think )then they do certain imports models but not all. It would have worked out cheaper to insure an STi than the WRX by a couple of hundred per year .

cheers

chrisp
