All,

I thought I'd share the following quotes with you. I'm 27 (married) with 6 years no claims, held my licence for 10 years and have 1 SP30 speeding (this year) and 1 no fault claim (just over three years ago). I live in a large town in Buckinghamshire.

The car is a 6 month old standard UK turbo 4 door model. It's garaged over night and has a CAT 1 alarm/imm. I do about 12K miles.

The following quotes are all fully comp, protected no claims, just for me to drive with £400 excess. I also need class 1 business use (not selling, just driving between client sites).

Privilege - 730 (see note 1)
Adrian Flux - 735
ATS Euromaster - 716 (see note 2)
AA - 1200
Hastings - 2200 !!!
Frizzell - 1131
Schofields - >= 800 (see note 3)
Catteralls - 900
Taylor Price - 1000

The following were all > 1200 after doing a 'rough' quote (i.e. not full details):

AXA
Admiral
Bennetts Elite
Bell Direct
National Direct

1) Privilege include track day cover for free. I'm already with them - their first offer was 852, and it ended up at 730 after some discussion.

2) ATS Euromaster are actually a rebranded Privilege. They were slightly cheaper but said that although track day cover was free, it was only valid with 2 or less cars on the track, which is no use to anyone. The 'real' Privilege don't appear to have this restriction.

3) To be fair to Schofields they are really aiming at the P1 market and have a minimum premium of £800.

Thanks for note 3). As you said I can only compete when quoting for the P1.

It is interesting that Taylor Price were at £1000 - I had been told that they would be competitive...Oh well

Once again sorry I couldn't help.

All the best

Cool

Maybe I can save you some cash!?

I am 26, and my '98 4 door is £600 fully comp.

I live in Maidstone, Cat 1 alarm, parked on drive. I have had 1 claim and have 1 sp30. Excess is £250.

Also after my claim I had a very prompt service in getting it repaired.

Thumbs up

if you could stick the contact for privilege and schofields on the board - that would be great - although, living in E14 London isn't doing me any favours.

e.g. my and other 'arf have a scoob sport (GBP750) V reg, 27 yrs, 4+yrs noc, clean and an H reg Alfa 33 cloverleaf which is also over 700 quid!!!

I'm about to get a new impreza turbo...

rapiddescent,

Thanks for your interest - unfortunately my minimum premium is £800.00 for a completly clean risk, best postcode, max NCD, over 30 with full tracking system etc etc - alas the premiums go up when the above don't apply.

As I have mentioned before I can only really compete with the P1's or similar.

Sorry I will be unable to assist.

All the best.

Schofields number 0113 250 0377.

However, it really isn't worth trying me unless you are prepared to fit GPS Tracking, are prepared to accept at least £250.00 excess and unless you are looking of premiums in excess of £800.00.

My prices start at £800.00...for basically a squeeky clean risk...i.e. postcode, no claims, convictions, over 30, Max NCD, commuting (but not full business use),one driver etc...I just can't compete on the standard scoobs...

Sorry guys and gals...I'm not a motor broker like A-Plan or Privalege or Direct Line etc...I am a Commercial Broker with a scheme for P1's (put together by me, becasue of my interest I was getting a p1) and occasionally I am able to assist with other models...sorry.

I am however always happy to discuss any insurance query with any Scoobynet member/reader. If I can help I will....tho just not able to promise the best quote.

All the best

Tom
