i was 24 in april when my reknewal came through was more than last years premiums.
cancelled it and re applied got more off, shortly after that they closed on under 25s.
to be honest mate i think you will get a reknewal offer albeit i reckon they will price it so high they make you say no. As far as im aware no one else will insure under 25

with tescos,
i turned 23 in feb and got my renewal through in march, 300 quid cheaper, now paying 1500 odd quid, my97 turbo. 2yrs no claims.
so you should be ok as this was after the 'changes'

LV are only "over 30's" on imports. They quoted me for a modded UK Scoob this year, (I'm 25) but it was a lot more than the company I ended up with (which is over 25s only IIRC)

Hi.
Apparently LV will only re-insure existing customers and not new ones for imports.
I phoned them last week as the person I bought my 1993 WRX off was insured through them, but they refused to give me a quote.
They said that insurance companies often have a run of selected types of cars (eg Subarus/4x4's etc) for a specific period of time & give really good prices. This is to attract drivers through club forums/word of mouth etc.
Then they stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just a case of phoning around to see if any companies have special deals at the moment.
Good Luck

£2.5k ffs!!!!!!
I can't understand you young-uns! spend your money going out on the pi55 instead and wait until you're older.
Mind you, when I was your age I was driving an Astra GTE 16V. Paying just over £900 third party Company PRP went straight onto car insurance.

I think I might have to get my mum to own and insure the scooby for me then.
Got a online quote as a named driver under my mums name came up at £950 compared to £1200 for myself.
My dads for a SP30 but i dont think this will make much difference.
is it worth not building up my NCB for the sake of £250 and high excess (£400 plus)?
I cant see any problems if my mum owns the car and insures me as anamed drive but my mum does spend alot of time abroad (7 months a year)

25, 2 years ncd, 2000 classic. tesco £1200. told them of prodrive spoiler, PPP, Prodrive suspension, Prodrive quickshift, and new wrx alloys.
yummy.
£1600.00 fully comp.
not too sad had V5 golf before and paid £1250 fully comp.
i didn't think twice about insurance. £450 more than the golf and look what i got. if the insurance for my scoob was the same as the golf, and my scoob was 13950 instead of 13500 i would still have paid it. look at it as a package. whats a few hundred pounds when ur spending thousands on the car. trust me its worth it.
Scooby net would not be here if it wasn't...

Ill be in the same boat next year, renewal is due mid feb 2005 and a dont hit 25 til mid aug 2005
Also with tesco paying £1700 on MY00 WRX fully comp with 4 years ncb. That includes extra £260 for ncb protection and £160 increase coz i got 3 points. If they **** me off next renewal ill have to get a **** car for 6 months then go over to l.v as they have told me when im 25 they will insure me and will be paying half what im paying now. Not got to worry about it til next feb tho
