Think you will struggle to insure wrx, at a push maybe a uk turbo.

I know Tescos are normally quite good with young drivers but they stipulate a tracker. No doubt someone off here will offer better advice.

Good Luck

I'm 20, don't know what insurance would be like on a WRX, but I'm paying about £900 tpft on a '96 2.0 Sport and thats in Birmingham, was only £90 to upgrade from my old 1.4 Escort.

Tesco will not insure you anymore,

for the new financial year they have changed the grouping to over 25s

this is unless you are with them already

Jeesh, how much are you planning on paying in premium? Even assuming you'll have three years NCD and a spotless record you'll be looking at thick end of a couple of grand to insure a standard UK Turbo, let alone an import.

More realistic option may be to go for a normally aspirated car this time round.

Alot of insurance co's will only insure you fully comp on a car worth over 5k so be warned about this, apart from that i dont think your going to have much luck (and id work my way up to something this powerful rather than just having 3 years of experience on the road )

That's not surprising, and it's unlikely you're going to find anything significantly cheaper given your insurance profile.

As stated above, being a little more realistic about your choice of car would probably be the way to go at this point in time. Work up to something quicker over the next few years. Apart from anything else, there'll be far less chance of you killing yourself (and others) via this approach.
