Question PPP friendly Insurance?

Hi all,

I haven't posted for a while as i've been busy. Anyway, it's that time of year again and I must admit, it maybe the last year for my Impreza.

I'm gutted at the price i'm getting quoted. I'm now 30 years old, no accidents or convictions. Full noclaims and the car is always in a garage overnight. My current insurance company (Greenlight) is quoting me nearly £1400 for my 02 Sti UK with PPP.

I've used confused.com and a-n-other who's name escapes me and the only nearest quote is Tesco, but they seem to stumble on the PPP. I had to explain that it was a ECU and exhaust change which increases the premium by £300 !!. The only other thing i'd like to to put my 25 year old wife on my policy as it is really annoying she cannot drive my car, when I can drive hers.

Anyway, enough of that. Does anyone have any recomendations?

Kind regards
Gareth

I mentioned PPP as being an engine and exhaust upgrade to L & V which attracted no extra premium.
I don't think that many (if any) insurers have PPP on their databases.
Am currently paying £582 for an MY04 with PPP and Prodrive brakes at L & V

As above, Liverpool+Victoria are mostly unbeatable with Impreza premiums.
You should have no trouble now you've hit the magic 30.
I was quoted £801 yesterday for an MY04 STI and they don't care about the PPP.

Bell direct have quoted me £750 for a classic MY96 UK turbo with exhaust and ECU mods and a few other bits. (very similar power hike to PPP) I'm 25, my "almost-wife" is 26 and we have 5 years NCB.

LV only seem to be competitive if all drivers are over 30. They quoted me £1200...

Barclaycard insurance are also worth trying - £760 for me with no mods and £860 with mods as above.

Just been quoted £827.00 with Frizzells but you do need to be 30. No extra cost if/when i get ppp as the nice lady informed me, also they don't insist on a tracker. This is for MY 02 Sti7 me 31 and when the wife is 30 she will be put on at no extra charge! very very nice people. i have been told that they are part of L & V but their prices were over £1000 just for me!

Thanks Guys,

I'll start phoning in the morning. Hopefully I can get a better quote.

I was quoted approximately £670 on a STi 8 with Elephant. I am 31 and it also included my wife who is 30. Also covered me for Class 1 business use.

Not sure about the PPP though.

Unhappy

I'm staggered. I just cannot get below £1400 (if they quote). Adrian Flux couldn't beat my current policy and L&V was about £1400. It's must the area I live in, it's the only other variable ;(

All,

I've gone with Tesco as they are the only company that will put my 25yr old wife on the policy. It's only an additional £30 over my current renewal quote also.

Mark,

Where do you live. Because in theory I should be able to get the same quote as you if not cheaper. L&V quoted me £1400 !!
