I am considering getting my STi8 PPP'd but want to check what the insurance increase will be before I do it.
How do I explain what the PPP is if they don't know what it is???
Do I simply say it equates to a 10% - 15% power increase?

Who are you insured with. Direct line have a "performance" phone number 0845 2468701 where the people seemed to know what I was talking about. They registered it as an ECU upgrade plus zorst in the 11% to 20% power increase bracket. Charged me £80 extra on an original £500 premium. I'm an old git of 54 with a mental age of 17 but fortunately I don't have to declare that.

I'm with Admiral. Just 28. They were easily the cheapest for me as most of the usual suspects wouldn't insure me as I'm under 30 with no previous insurance experience with Scoobs

Tesco wanted approx £350pa more for me (previously circa £1150pa). Elephant quote was £700 more for PPP upgrade!!! Adrian Flux approx £1000 more.
L&V no extra but they won't insure my GF as she's 29 and drivers need to be over 30 for the car.
Whatever I do, I can't seem to get a quote for less than £1350, whilst no PPP would have been under £950. Seems like a lot of wedge for a little more power but overall I still think it's worth it (just).

When I tried to get an Admiral quote for my WRX PPP, they said they would'nt do engine upgrades despite the fact that it does'nt affect the warranty etc. Could'nt get me off the phone quickly enough!

Just had a chat with my insurance company and they have said it will be an extra £114.33 for PPP.....Not too bad!
It was an increase of £89.18 just for an exhaust!
Decision time!!!

mine went up £150 with the ppp with privlage, although they had no idea what ppp was but was happy to break it down into modification stages, ie, exhaust upgrade and ecu upgrade. not bad really!
