Question

Been thinking along the lines of in a few months chopping in my MY00 wagon for a bug-eyed STi7 (I like the styling ).

Currently insured by Norwich Union and last year by Tesco. My insurance is around 550. I have an MY00 DP+BB mods (i.e. up to 10 percent power increase), colour coded sills, boost gauge and MY01 17" alloys.

Thought I'd do a quick online quote for an STi7. Tried Tesco and Elephant ... quotes around 550 ???????

So I would pay around the same for an STi as I would for my slightly modded UK Turbo ... can anyone figure that one out? I'm guessing it's because the STi7 is standard and my MY00 is modded?

Any ideas?
Hamish.

I should ring Norwich Union for confirmation, also ask what percentage increase on the premium the mods are having.
Has the STi7 got a tracker fitted as standard, as this sometimes generates a significant discount?

Thumbs up

Cheers for that ..

Supposedly my exhaust mods are adding about 100 quid to my quote. The wheels are Subaru alloys and are adding nothing. Yep, the STi7 has a tracker but then again so do I ???

Can't see how this isn't correct so is defo food for though

Hamish.

550?? thats a bargin, i'm with Direct Line(same under writter as tesco, and i'm paying 1100 for a UK standard 98 2000 Turbo.

I know it depends on points and age, of which i have none, "i'm 28".

anyway 550 sounds great!

1100 at Direct Line? thats horrendous. I'm 617 at Direct line for me and wife (34 and 30) for 240 bhp WRX with bigger turbo.
