Well picking up me first scooby up tomorrow, had spent many an hour finding the right insurance got it down to £1485 with Keith Michaels, which we were quite chuffed with as included Mods, tesco was cheaper as standard.

Phone up credit card in hand to cough up the pennies to find out the underwriters have pulled out of insuring scoobies, got the quote three days ago, I now have a car that is close to impossible to insure as Mrs is under 25. Tescos just alloys and exhaust adds 600 quid to the premium. Looking at the 2000 - 3000 mark to insure the car with mods. Thats with 5 years NCB no points etc completely clean license both me and the Mrs.

Tried all the other insurers about and in these forums no luck any where.

Now completely gutted, the week the underwriters change their policy just had to be the week I need insuring.

Thanks to Jeremy at Keith Michaels, he was very sorry and helped all he could, not KM fault and they seemed like a great firm.

Im off to either hang myself or cut me other arm and leg off to stump up the insurance money or pay 1300 to insure as standard for a pick of paper worth f**k all if any thing bad happens.

Anyway every one be warned, the underwriters are pulling out of insuring Scoobies.

Why not take the mods off? I had to do this to get my insurance and sad though it made me it was better than having invalid insurance or paying through the nose.

Take the mods off the car. You'll get insurance on the standard car.

Tescos are the insurers that we are going to be forced to go with, Keith Michaels was who we wanted to go with until today when their under writers have changed their minds. Just about no one else will touch us.

Any one tried to claim for a modded car that wasnt declared before ?? I'll bet theres loads of horror stories.

Its one of the two mods off or not declared.

I ******* hate insurance.

Try Greenlight Insurance. I have lots of mods and no NCB (crash last year) and they still will insure me (at a price though).
