Doesnt that make a complete mockery of renewal premiums?
So we ALL ring round, everyone who drives a car in the country, find the lowest possible quote then go to Barclay Card and get it cheaper. All the other insurance companies lose all their business and go bust, Barclays lose so much money they refuse to do any renewals ever again, then when it comes to renewal time we CANT get insurance so the government outlaws it and gives us all a pork pie to keep voting for them. Then becasue there are no insurance companies all the "no win no fee" sueing bast legal companies cant get any cases cos there is no one to "win" the money from, so they all lose their horrible misery-inflicting humanity-degrading jobs, and we all live happily ever after and be nice to each other.
What a plan....

I used this last year - Greenlight had stopped insuring Jap imports but had still sent me a good renewal. Took this to Barclays who beat it by £40! I beleive they will only beat a renewal from your existing insurance company though not a quote from a prospective insurer.

Same old problem though...
I was with these for a couple of years but when the renewal came through for my STi Type UK they were £300 more.... they got really miffed when i said I was not going with them.
Be intresting next year when it comes up to renewal time....

Just tried Greenlight, they're not covering imports at the mo.Rang Barclays and they beat my renewal quote, rang my current insurers, they beat that, rang Barclays again and have now got £100 off my renewal with all mods declared(loads)and an excess of only £100.
Cheers for the tip on Barclays insurance.

Tried the Barclaysdeal today for my beloved coupe, Privilage were renewing at £1150, got a load of quotes down to £850 (Adrian Flux), Barclaycard deal would not beat any other quote than the renewal-the grand sum of £7 !!!!-not worth the bother.

I am with greenlight for my MY97WRX, just got in before they stopped taking on imports, Barclays did beat there renewal quote this year but only by a few pounds, I told greenlight I'd had a better offer and they requoted better again by £40.

What I did after Barclays promised to beat my renewal was ring AF back and tell them.As they also promised to beat any other quotes in a letter with my renewal, they did so.I then rang Barclays back telling them of the lower quote and they beat that. They also gave me an excess of £100 compared to £400 from AF.

Also don't forget that if you insure fully comp with most companies, this gives you 3rd party cover on other cars. Barclay does not give this service. So make sure the policy is like for like. Not all are the same....
