Question

Hi folks

I'm moving abroad soon, to live and work in Germany. Of course, the Scoob's coming with me . So what I'd like to know is how the insurance is going to differ? I mean will they take into account my full NCD? Will it be outrageously expensive to insure a RHD car over there?

Any thoughts appreciated...

I'm about to do the same thing, but I'm off to Finland. No concrete information as yet, but apparently insurance in Scandinavian countries is cheaper due to lower accident rates. Since Germany has an accident rate as bad as the UK I guess it isn't going to be that way where you're going...

There's a very brief mention of insurance here:

Oops! edited to add another link - perhaps try asking your question here:

Well after failing to get anywhere with Finnish insurance companies so far, I thought I'd try my luck with UK companies who were willing to provide cover for Europe too (above the usual holiday trip stuff).

Yikes! My premium will double! from around £800 to £1600 per year!!! Think I need to persevere with the Finnish angle for now. Hope you get on better than I'm managing to
