Default GPS Antenna location

Hi, I'm going to fit a double din sat nav head unit in the car and was wondering what the best/easiest location for the gps antenna is? I think I've read that under the clock housing is good? Is it easy to get into that location? Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

Push it up under the centre vent on the dash, or up the drivers door pillar.

Thanks for the reply, I thought I'd read somebody fitted it out of sight under the plastic clock housing? I've searched but can't find it again!!??

For best signal, fit it where it can see the sky. Anywhere on the dash where it meets the windscreen is good.

i fitted mine under the windsreeen wiper panel as i wanted it out of sight and have a 3 gauge pod where the clock used to be and was concerned about interference.
works perfectly.

its no different to being under your clock which is plastic and also behind a windscreen, it has never lost signal and worked fine.

i wanted the receiver hidden otherwise i would have stuck it on the dash, the clock location is fine though
