my advice will always be alpine for the head unit. what type of music you listen to determines the amp but more the speakers...
what you listening to?

hmm so you like some soft vocals, base......

can i suggest some jl audio components, with silk dome tweeters in the front. jl audio 12 " bass in the boot. a good 4 channel jl amp to run these.....
then perhaps go 6" 9" on the rear shelf running off the head unit.

OK, here's MY advice, same as it EVER was:

Get yrself out there and LISTEN to some.

Halfords or a decent ICE dealer.

Having chosen my headunit, I took my youngest who helped me do blind testing at Halfords.
I ended up with Sony 3-way 16.5cm fronts and Sony 3-way 6x9's rear.

Fronts are on mdf spacers, rears too, both home made.
Fronts are painted and not visble once door card is on, rears covered with proper ICE carpet.

17cm components in the front of mine, 6x9's under rear shelf with custom adapters, run of my cd tuner no fancy bass boxes just good clean sound, and the 6x9's play really well and give a surprising amount of full range sound and bass
