Default Subs: where do you have yours?

Last May I bought a decent Alpine underseat sub. Problem was, it doesn't go under the Impreza seats, they are V6 Sti in a classic. I could POSSIBLY get it under the passenger seat, but I reckon the passenger seat would then not move fore and aft. Wifey would be unhappy, to say the least. Also, she's a big girl, she MIGHT feel it under her seat THEN I'd be in the brown smelly stuff

So.......where to put it? Under parcel shelf is a wash-wipe mechanism from a JDM car, and a pair, of 6x9's so not room there.

The rear seats are also JDM STi V6, so no panel to fix it to there.

Any bright ideas, or do I give up and sell it on?

In my classic I put it under the seat by cutting out the sound deadening as it gave the extra clearance I needed for an amp. I just put some dynamat underneath to retain the sound deadening. Not sure on you Sub dimensions but it may work.

Mounted on the spare wheel? You mean screwed/bolted to it?

I've got one of these in mine.

Works well and doesn't take up too much room.

I think it needs to be in the passenger compartment or firing into it directly. Subs are all about moving air and have to compete with any low frequency noise from the car. A small active sub designed to sit in the passenger compartment won't IMO have the muscle to be heard much if it's in the boot.

Best suggestion so far was to "rebate" the carpet and insulation under the passenger seat IMO.

Going to look into this, will remove passenger seat first.

Just FERVENTLY hope that, when fitted, it doesn't let my Mrs feel it.......

Well, it's in....after a struggle, it fits part way under the passenger seat, but protruding into the rear passenger footwell.

If I DO have anyone in those rear seats, I'll just lift it off it's Velcro, and unplug it.
