Looking for an underseat active sub.
I've found a few on e-bay, ranging from £70 for an Armaggeddon unit up to £160 or so.
They come from Blaupunkt, Alpine, Clarion etc, but does anyone know of any decent ones?
I like my speakers in the front, but they could do with a BIT more nbass punch.
The headunit DOES have a sub-out and control for it.

my wife has a kenwood under seat sub with external seperate bass gain.to be completely honest if you are looking for ground moving bass forget it,they are good at medium bass levels in the cab,but dont expect 15 inch chest beating b-line in a sub box.for general inprovment of cabin sound they are ok.i hope this helps.

I am just upgrading my HU and speakers and i too want a bit more Boom Boom, but not the window shaking, teeth shattering sub bass, but nice clean punchy bass.
Here is one that has a lot of 5 star reviews and is the one i will go for in a week or so http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...10_p-25817.htm

i think im going to demo a few of these next time im at a show, and give a report compared to a small sub/amp combo in the boot. see how they do, as im tempted with one, but i know due to size its going to be hard to match the sound.

I totally agree that it will never match a sub/amp combo housed in a bass box or similar, but the idea of these underseat units are to enhance the bass that the smaller door speakers are unable to produce, so giving a fuller more rounded sound.
From my teens to my 30's i had one or two 12" subs mounted in a purpose made rear shelf and driven by independent amps, window down pumping out tunes from ibiza and raves, cruising the streets of B'ham city centre, driving up and down broad street etc, trying to out do the other guys and getting the chicks to have a peep in my car of the (MKII escort, MG metro, Renault 5 GT turbo, Subaru turbo classic)
Then came the late 30's and early 40's and my tastes changed to wanting clarity and finesse for my enjoyment only and now i cruise to only to Tesco as i got the chick, got the car, got the T-shirt, job done!
Plus my ear drums are now knackered from all the 1000 watt sub bass i exposed myself too
Have fun

Broad Street? No-one would have cruised up and down there when I lived in Brum, Gas Street, Oozells Street, what a dump THAT area was.
Now regenerated, thankfully.
Joseph Lucas who made rally lights had their head office on Oozells Street, as did the Birmingham City Council licensing office, who issued full licenses if you passed your test in Brum, WAY before the DVLC came into being.
1970/71.

It was still a dump in the late 80's, but now it is very nice and a great place for a night out, but then you could race round the ring road at your leisure, lol.
