Default Amp Wiring??

Can anyone tell me or even better illustrate how and where the wiring from the battery and from behind the headunit can be ran and hidden on an 07 STi when fitting an amp.

Any responses are much appreciated.

Cheers

There's a rubber grommet to the right of the bulkhead that comes out behind the glove box. Carefully make a slit with a sharp knife, feed the power cable through and then seal it with silicone sealant or gaffer tape.

Cheers mate.

Do the sills and what have you come up easily to place wiring underneath?

Thanks

I ran my wiring down the centre of the car by the transmission tunnel. I've never lifted the sills.

sills simply unclip and there is masses of room beneath them.

Try not to run the power cables and RCA cables next to each other though as you MAY get some interferance.

Run the RCA down the other side

In my classic I ran the power from the battery and remote turn on for the amp passanger side sill.

RCA's down the middle of the car under the carpet with speaker cables.

No interference thankfully.

Before you start - make sure you have everything you need like connectors, crimping tools, wire cutters, electrical tape, coffee, red bull, etc and obviusly the amp.

Decide where you'd like the amp mounted and secure in place.

Leave enough wire over to ensure mistakes.

Double check that is where you want the amp to go!!

RCA cable from relevant output on headunit straight to amp,
amp secured to suitable secure surface (preferably quite well ventilated)
good earth connection (mine are attached to the bumper mounts on the inside of the boot, but depends where you mount it. make sure it's metal ie take some wet and dry to the area and ensure no dirt or paint in the way)
Amp remote atached to corresponding connection from head unit.
Speaker connections wired from amp to speaker - follow polarity
suitable speakers to cope with power.
replace all carpet
away you go - enjoy

I'll have get it installed at the weekend when I can have the excuse to spend double the time faffing around with things when it should only take 30 mins tops.
