Default 2005 WRX Speaker size Front and Rear

Hey guys and gals!

I've just purcashed my new WRX Scooby and have now realised the speakers are pants to say the least.

I would like to replace my standard ones with Alpine speakers but would like to know the size of both front and rear before I buy the new speakers.

Can anyone help a damsel in distress!??? Please!

Plenty of info and links in the FAQ (the one that says 'read before posting' lol):

Problem with front 'speakers is there's very little room behind them, so spacers are pretty much essential.

The rears have room behyind them, but there's very little room in front of them (to the door card) so choice is limited.

Did you get anywhere with your rear speakers - does not appear to be much in the FAQ for the rears

Perhaps someone has got some good recommendations for speakers they have used?

got kenwoods in mine today 120w rears and 160w front. The guys who installed them agreed not a lot of room for the "big magnets". ICE virgin so I just nod and pay...................I'll root out the specs/ model details in the morning but they only cost £120.00 for both sets and sound pretty decent.

iaperformance.com do the adapter brackets to allow you to use the lager 5.25" speakers in the 4" slot that the original wafer thin jobs use. (with no metal work required)

I had 6inch CDT's fitted to the front a couple of weeks ago MY05 WRX300 by K & M accoustics in Wigan. Excellent sound and service from the lads there. They did advise to have the dynamat thingy fitted but ran out of pennies! another project for another day.
