Default Infinity 6510cs

Having read the ICE FAQ im ready to start my ICE upgrade, thanks to all for the excellent contributions.

I have bought a pair of Infinity 6510cs which im told are 2005's version of the 6000cs that come recommended by the FAQ. Are they the same speaker or has anyone heard of any problems with these?

Are they any other hints or tips that you can give me before I get the door card off and get busy with some MDF and a jigsaw?

Cheers

p.s. MY03 wrx (53 plate)

Hi

You don't need to take them back. I've just fitted the exact same speakers in the front doors (MY05). You will need 18mm MDF spacers to clear the windows tho'.

Thanks Gazza, turns out 18mm MDF is what I do have, not 12mm. No problems getting the door card back on then? That was my biggest worry with a bigger spacer.

hi gazza

am replacing the speakers later in the week on my MY05 WRX300 - are you happy with the speakers? what HU do you use? I've got an Alpine and am happy with it. do you need extra amplification to run the infinity speakers you mentioned? i don't want to share my sound with the whole neighbourhood, just have a decent sound!

cheers

Speakers are fine. Well pleased with the choice. The alpine HU I have is the IVA-D310A and for me it doesn't need extra amplification. Like you I just want a decent sound that lets me listen to the music I like without any distortion.
