Default anyone know the chances of pioneer producing an hdd multiplay?

see title.

contemplating an Ipod, but wondering if this would suit me since I only ever listen in the car.

Can only assume that there i no point them not producing one or they will seriously fall behind the times.

Well, Alpine have one so would expect everyone else to follow in the not too distant future. Alpine model is HDA-5460MS and goes for just under £1k in the UK at the moment.

Edit - Pioneer do do one, called the Pioneer DEH-P90HDD

Ian, thanks for the info, model code sounds like a head unit, I know they have one of these already but its the multiplay I was after.

You can get one of them new fangled radio transmitter thangs that will allow you to pick up the iPod broadcast in the car as a radio station.....not sure if there are quality issues associated with it....but not sure the iPod is HiFidelity anyway

ian, I mean just an HDD in the boot to connect to an exisiting head unit in the same way a mulitplay cd player does.

Ie. an HDD changer instead of a cd changer.

Ahh, got you. No, not seen anything like that from Pioneer (or any of the other big makes).

Cheers
