Default Ford Focus Double DIN to Single DIN

Hi, Just been given a company car, a 52 plate Focus Zetec, but i want to put my Single DIN head unit in, had a couple of questions incase any one has done it b4.

When i put my single DIN head unit in, will there be 1 big space above or below the headunit, or two small spaces above and below the headunit.

Also if i buy the Ford Focus to ISO wiring harness, will the steering radio controls still work?

Thanks

Looking at it, it appears that you'll get a big space above or below, I can't tell which, but it's definitely only one space. Blanking plates are available from lots of places, searching found me this:

Steering controls won't work without a separate adaptor as there's no control wires on the ISO block. You may find it's easier/less expensive to get a steering-wheel mounted remote control to use...

it isn't a double din slot tho, IIRC. It's about one and a bit. It is a ford standard tho

You could use this to link your iPod to your Ford factory radio through the CD changer port.
