cheapest place for cd head unit
as above nothing to fancey MP3 would be nice. car has uprated speakers no subs or amps. so a decent built in amp would be a bonus. anyone recomend anthing?

Depends on your budget. Alpine head units claim the most power at 60w but pioneer are also worth looking at. MP3 is a must, once you have had it you will wonder how you ever lived without.

try here - they do recon, or reboxed or ex-display models, kenwood.

p.s. i find the sony head units seem to be a bit too bass orientated, which means you`ll need good speakers and you lose a bit of clarity. Only my opinion mind

I have just bought a SONY CDXR3300. Quite like it. Easy to fit as long as you get the right lead to go with it to save arsing about with the wires etc.
Excellent S/N ratio of 120db.
