Question Pioneer DEH-P7400MP in a MY03 STi

I have the aforementioned head unit from my old car and I am interested in installing it in the Scoob. I am sure that I have read somewhere that this is one of the only head units that won't fit in a MY03.

Could anybody confirm this to prevent me from finding out the hard way? If anybody has fitted one, is there any chance of a photo?!

Cheers.

The only problem you might have is with the facia surround but this is removeable on all the head units I've seen.

I have this head unit in my car, but it's the MY96 classic, it should fit, but it will stand proud of the centre console, so it really depends if you're after a tidy flush fit or not.

This head unit will not fit. I'd only had mine 6 months when I got my scoob. Luckily I sold it for a good price and got a DEH-77MP instead. That would be my suggested route.

The DEH-77MP does indeed fit really easy and looks very neat.
This headunit also does not require a feed direct from the battery like some high current alpine units.

I also have the DEH-77MP and it fits extremely well and with upgraded speakers it sounds superb.

Only thing I have noticed is that the front panel seems to get very hot when played for long periods. Anyone else noticed this?

They do get a bit warm but it's nothing to worry about.
My old alpine got even hotter.

I've had a look on a few sites at the 77MP and it looks very cool. I dont suppose anyone has a picture of one fitted in a MY03 (or 02) STi or WRX?
