Default Focal components....

Looking to buy some Focal speakers for the front of my 03 wrx either the Focal Polyglass 130 v slim or 165 vslim. I am assuming the 130's will fit virtually directly, but the 165s will need a spacer making.
Has anyone got these fitted as I don't want to fork out a load of cash only to find they won't actually fit?

cheers in advance

After hours of research I couldnt find and speakers that didn't need spacers.
12mm MDF is common, don't go any thicker cos the cone will hit on the door card.
I fitted infinity 6000cs with about 5mm spare between the magnet and window, about as close as I wanted to get. The 6000cs's are very shallow (53mm) as well for a decent 6 1/2" speaker.
Don't know the depth of the focal, but 59mm or more would hit my windows and that's a 03sti with 12mm MDF spacers.

Thumbs up

I've got 165's in my classic. They're not the slim ones, they're quite deep.

I used Nova spacers from Halfords. I had to hack them a little (the spacers that is) but they went in ok. I've also had to pack the door card out a bit to stop the cone fouling it.

Basically, they will fit but it takes a bit of work and I think the same goes for the 03.
