Question

Hi All,

Just doing a bit of research about prices, where to go etc ...

I currently have a 10" boxed sub and an amp that i would like put into my scooby. I have seen a number of people on here that have fantastic installs that are custom made for the boot.

I cant afford such a custom install but was thinking of a single box to fit just one side of my boot that contains the amp and sub. However, i am getting quotes of about 400 just to make the box

Is this about right? or are they taking an ice newbie for a ride ???

Any advice would be appreciated!!

SCotty ;D

You don't need a custom one - autoacoustics have premade boxes for about 150 quid.

Cheers,
Nick.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the link ;D However, the custom made quote i was given was to include the amp at one side of the box and the sub in the other. The single box took up a whole side of the boot.

Hmm, it doesn't sound extorsionate, but if you want to do it cheaper then the AutoAcoustics solution is an option.

Get some details on what they're thinking of, and how they're going to trim it all up etc.

Cheers,
Nick.

I`m near cheshire so not really nearby.
If I get enough demand Ill get some fibreglass/mdf custom boxes made for less than Autoacoustics.

Scotty,

I'm in Stevenage in Herts... where did you go for your quote?

I've got a complete boot install - had it done at DND Services, good friends of mine so i get a good deal. If you want to have a look at the install itself, let me know and we could meet up,the quality of the build is ace.

There are pics on here of mine in this forum somewhere. jsut add me to your vip lsit and have a hunt through or mail me on marc@car-torque.net.

good luck

Marc

goonasuk - i cant remember where i got the first quote from I have phoned so many places. However, i went into DnD services and spoke to Dave. Got a quote for £235 Not entirely custom fit, but good enough as a starting point to build on and within my current budget Would love to see your install, to get an idea of their quality
