Question

Hi all, need some basic advise here. I have a sti8 with the bog standard stereo system. I would like to refit the car with a reason sound system. I have been reading a lot about stuff like amps, subwoofers, new boot speakers etc etc. I am confused; I don't want anything like those in 2 Fast 2 Furious but just so that I can play music loud without it sounding distorted, like now.

Can anyone help, please?

Well, depends on how much you want to spend, really, and what features and style you like...

Talking generally, you need to replace the headunit with something better which are usually single DIN sized, put something in the hole that's left (plastic pocket, compartment, SECS unit etc) and replace the front speakers with decent components, adding noise deadening whilst your at it.

Once you've that as a bare minimum, you can start thinking about amps etc...

Thanks Jocky.........

I was thinking of spending no more than £ 500 to £ 750, but as I am a tight git and the sales are on, i will try and squeeze everypenny out of my notes to get a fantastic system.

have a look on www.caraudiodirect.co.uk for some ideas and prices - very cheap I believe.
