Is it crappy speakers or crappy stereo? Would like to know the easy route to a half decent sound - not interested in anything particularly flash, just want something that makes a proper noise. My company Mondeo made a better noise then this thing!!

Change stereo first or the speakers is all I need to know..........oh and what to change them for .

Sorry if this has been done to death, tried a bit of a search but found nothing that really nailed my question.

Cheers chaps,

Otis.

I've always found that just the headunit makes the initial difference that makes it worth listening to, without spending out a fair bit of cash on an extra amp / subs etc..

But it depends on what sort of "proper noise" you want. If it's loudness and defined music, then your prob looking at the sub & amp / speakers later combo.

You can buy the headunit first, see if it's what you want and upgrade from there if necessary.

Change stereo. It's truly awful. The shocking thing is that kenwood have allowed their name to be printed on it at the bottom of the unit...

Change it, then be happy for a few weeks, then realise the speakers are sh1te and change them too.

Then add an amp, sub, eq, further processors and ...

chiark,
Just been looking at your excellent website about changing at headunit.
Do you know if the procedure is the same for MY03 as MY02?
Thanks
