I think the fronts must be 160mm as I recently put in 165mm speakers and had to do some modifications cause i wanted to keep the standard plastic collar.....infinity INF-655ie i think

I have a MY98 Wagon BTW.

Front are 160 - 170mm with some work and the rear doors take 100mm speakers.
Which speakers are best is a matter of opinion so I'd visit some dealers and have a good listen to as many as poss. Also try to listen to some demo cars and other peoples instals.

when you say the rears take a bit of work to take 100cm speakers, how much and what work involved. I want to change mine but just want to drop the new ones straight in....

100cm speakers will screw straight in in the rear doors.
It's the front doors that require the work.

Chiark and other members have produced their own faq pages.
Take a good look around the ice section and you will find links to these and other install guides.

Good luck.
