Navigation/speedtrap locators
#1
There seem to be 101 different incar navigation systems, you know the ones with the lovely LCD screens and the DVD maps, and there are now a few different kind of speed trap locators such as the Origin Blue i and the Geodesey, also I have heard of devices that use GPS to provide acurate speed / acceleration mesurement, as these are all based on the same GPS tech (as fas as I know) is there one system that does it all or have I just spotted the gap in the market ??

Well Never mind even if they did make one I'm sure they would charge a preimium for it and as my budget doesnt run to buying them seperatly and selotaping them together so I probably couldnt afford it anyway
however if anybody wants to take this idea and manufature the device then I would happily collect my royalties then mayby I could afford one!!

Was thinking about this the other day, after worrying about a drive along a motorway slightly too fast...
The trouble with route points is that you only "go" to ONE at once. You need to be "going" to ALL camera locations at once if you are to make a GPS camera detector.
My idea is to use a cheap GPS receiver, and connect it to a computer. (using NMEA or seatalk etc) (A palm top or lap top would be best I think.)
A database of warning locations can then be made on the computer, as well as MP3 players, acceleration indicators, ECU monitors etc.
