Fitting the single DIN pocket
Hi Folks,
I wanted to use a single DIN Alpine I have so bought the genuine subaru pocket from ICP:
https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/par...in&searchPart=
I have a 2007 hawkeye and was able to get the double DIN out and take the cage off and put it on the single DIN without issue. How does the single DIN dash pocket fit in the cage??? I spent about an hour trying all sorts. The only things I have discovered is that the stock library image from ICP is upside down and it fits the other way round and I found a thread whereby someone took a knife and double sided tape to it which I dont really want to do.
I noticed scoobyparts sell these also and advise modification is required but can anyone tell me what modification?

Subaru OEM don't use a cage as such but two side plates that the radio and pocket would be screwed to
Imagine the CD player shown below (lower)
is the pocket

Thanks Don.
There is nothing on plates that line up with the pocket to screw into, there isn't even anything to screw the screws into in the pocket alone. I guess the modification is a bit of drilling into the plastic of the pocket and possibly the plates.

Just in case anyone comes across the same issue, here is what I have done:
Cut off the 2 small plastic nipples that protrude from the side of the pocket (you will know exactly what I am referring to when you try to mate the plates to the pocket) with a stanley knife (sorry, no photo, I forgot)
Drilled 2 small holes (one on each side of each plate), lining them up with a circular gap in the pocket case and then used 2 screws (1 each side) to hold the pocket to the plate:
The fit was spot on, even the door works with out further 'modification':
Thanks for the assistance Don, got there in the end. I have to admit I love the way these Subaru's are put together, it was very easy to work on.
