Hmmm! Their product list needs a bit of interpretation?
Can anyone define the correct plug for the various UK models?
I remember using HKS iridiums (made by Denso?) a while back in my previous 99my but these had different codes (S35?)

HKS are indeed made by Denso, the cross-reference chart shows as follows:

S35 = IQ22
S35C = IW22
S35G = IW22
S35I = IK22

The S35i was the one, equivalent to a 7 heat grade I believe.
There has, in the past, been some comment on here regarding Denso's?? If they get the OK I would be interested in a set, those prices are good for iridiums?

Shame I have just replaced mine couple of weeks ago with NGK Platinum.....

Decided to stick with the NGK's as the Denso's were £11 from cheapest place i found....

Good price though..... wish I had waited!

Several of us have had problems with HKS/Denso "std" Iridium plugs, I'm currently trialing some IK01-24 racing plugs which have been fine for about 3k miles now, the others would be fine for a relatively std car but a risk in an engine of reasonably enhanced performance, in the cases I know of the centre electrode dropped off, I suffered minor and insignificant piston surface marking but others lost valves.

FWIW PFR7-B's normally only last about 5 k miles in my car b4 going off so I'm looking to improve on that, NGK racing 8's foul up too quickly if the car is a daily driver, the Denso's I mention are '8's but have a very fine (0.4) centre electrode with a non stick coating on the insulator which seems to keeping them clean.

Whoops! Looks like Oilman might have a few plugs left in stock after Bobs comment, although he may do better on the other forums that are carrying the offer?
I'm currently using Blitz (NGK) iridiums - I hope such problems do not extend to these or iridiums in general?

No problems thanks Bob, I am aware that detonation can be a problem.

It's rare but it can happen.

What's interesting is that I'm informed by Denso that they are OEM fit plugs for scoobs.

They are fine for std cars and mildly uprated, its been well posted on this and 22B bbs's that using in a more "reasonably" uprated engine have been problematic. The Denso racing versions seem ok but early days for me yet, so don't be put off if you have a std car they do a v good job, I used the HKS variety in a large number of cars with no issue, its only when you up the anti more seriously that things get iffy, it wasn't a case od detonation btw, electrode disintegrated and wedged valves causing heat errosion.
