Default Wrx sti v3 a good buy?

Hi,

Basically I'm looking to come into the Subaru fold and my friend who is a car dealer is offering a version 3 wrx sti import in silver it's completely standard apart from a forge revirc valve and an exhaust next to no rust on the arches he wants 1400 is that a good price ? I don't know anything about subarus and I would also like to know what things I should check before buying

All help appreciated thanks guys

Welcome, it's either got rust on the arches or it hasn't, If it has then you need to budget in the region of a grand to have it repaired properly because a rub down and blow over will last a year at most.

£1400, would depend on condition and how it's been treated, milage, svc history etc.

I'd need to have a good look over it and hear it running to decide if I wanted to take a punt or not, so I guess the answer is only you can decide if you can afford to lose £1400 or not, always best with these cars to have a few quid spare just in case.

I'd agree, good V3 STIs are great cars & usually go for good money, but a dog will go for about that as they can be money pits.

STI on the log book means nothing, its the applied model code you need to check.

Ouch. Was it a private sale? What action did you take just out of curiosity?
