Unhappy Engine Management Light

This afternoon whilst driving my 2007 Impreza Estate WRX the engine management light came on.
According to the manual this means there is potentially a problem with the emissions system.
After having quite a few car issues the last couple of weeks this comes as another blow so I'm hoping it's nothing too serious or expensive!

Can anyone shed any light on this & tell me what I need to do next.

Thanks

Nothing yet, we don't have a diagnostic machine so I'm gonna have to buy one or take it to a garage. Is it normally something serious? Am I okay to keep driving it?

Fortunately it hasn't gone into limp mode. I need to use it for work on Monday though.

07 wrx saloon mine came on last month turned out to be
Short circuit on knock sensor. First was from dump valve. Went back stock on that. Next was after map and exhaust gases. Nothing that was expensive.
Don't panic. You can get a reader on the bay for £20 which connects to
Android phone( only not iphone) which will do the job.

Hope this helps de stress I know how stressed that light makes you feel

I'm back in garage after noticing excess smoke whilst running Rrrrrrrrr
