Default Tracker location (running battery flat me thinks)

Hello everyone,

i have a 2003 blob STI that has a RAC trackstar fitted as standard, after doing a bit or research anf having bought a new battery and still having problems i though i would try disconnecting the tracker.

I don't have a trackstar subscription (as my insurance company wanted another £200 if i had a tracker active)

I have some minimum documentation and i read somewhere on here a guy said if i have the location code he could tell me where it is, but i see not location code on the documentation...

I did find this, is this it and if not what the hell is it?Click image for larger version

Perfect, got it and disconnected and the police didn't even turn up like last time i tried to fit blue LED's to my Calibra turbo

Hopefully that fixes my battery problems going flat after only 2 days of not running (new battery)...

Thanks

I just disconnected every wire 1 push clip in and 2x screw in...
it is not connected in anyway now but just left it there incase someone wants it in the future. It's alot bigger than i though it would be.

Just in case you didn't know, your MY car has a so called smart alternator, IIRC.

It only charges when it detects enough of a drain on the battery, ie the sidelights being switched on. Not very smart really if you only do short journeys and such.

Yeah I know, I had just done a 200 mile trip and it was dead less than 48 hours later... Even after a day sitting I could tell the battery was weak, disconnecting the tracker totally fixed this for me.

I have a similar problem even with a new battery fitted. Anyone have a picture of what the tracker looks like ?

I bought a brand new battery and it didn't help at all...
It's about the size of an envelope and about 2cm depth. It has 3 wires going into it all on one side. Good luck..

The batteries can be replaced if you can use a soldering iron.

Got mine out. Surprised to see a SIM card in it. Don't know yet if it helps with the battery but hopefully it will.
