When decatting a newage sti the eml light will come on yes? When it's time to remap can this be mapped out so the eml doesn't keep coming on? I'd probably be going down the open source route for mapping. Thanks paul

Not if you get the bungs fitted so you can connect the EGT sensor.

 

Its not the fact the eml will come on, its the fact it WILL boost spike and det its head off.
The only way around this is mapping, its really not advisable to just decat a new age STI and leave it that way unless you want a big bill for an engine rebuild when it fails

 

What about a sports cat. It that ok without a remap? My 05 wrx has one but not sure if it has been remapped.

 

On WRX this shouldn't be problem,but still would advise at least get car check for AFR

Plus remap can unleash extra power,which is worth,f you are in Kent speak with Neil@Slowboy racing and ask him,if he can check for you AFR
