Default K&N Oil Filters for classics???

Hi Guys i have a question about K&N Oil filters that will fit a MY00 UK Turbo 2000. I ordered the filter from ebay and messaged the seller confirming what car the filter was for, he messaged me back explaining that the filter would be slightly smaller than what is on already as they changed the filter to fit the newage scoobs a bit better.
It arrived yesterday and i'm quite worried about how small it actually is! Car is going in on friday for new clutch and service so could do with finding out if anyone has one fitted to their car? The part number is HP-1008 which shows on the opie oils site as being for the 04-05 WRX, will this still be ok on my classic?

Any advice greatly appreciated guys

1015 is the old style larger filter

you can use the new style one no probs

Thanks for your response mate that's good news

After a bit more reading up on the filter it appears that they made it smaller to clear the equal length headers on the STI models, but i still can't get over how small it is even compared to a standard filter.

Might even get a spare blueprint one just in case

I thought exactly the same thing when i replaced my oil filter, they do seem a bit on the small side.

They are small but a good filter. They have a very strong canister with a welded drilled nut on the bottom for easy removal and can be wired for track days. I've used these filters plenty of times and never had an issue.

The nut at the bottom is a lot better, than having to use the wrenches.
