New age decat question
Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it.
I've got a 2005 sti non pro drive which has currently just got an aftermarket back box on. I'm looking to get an unresonated centre section and also remove the second cat.
My question is will I be ok to run the car without the second cat without a remap? I am intending a remap at some point but is it advisable to leave the cat on until this point?
Thanks in advance.

That's true? I thought you could change the centre section and backbox without a remap..
I'm probably wrong though! Would be nice to know now rather than before I fit it. I know changing the downpipe for a decat one would need a remap.

If you leave the downpipe cat on it'll be fine.
Removing the 2nd cat and centre won't require a remap, this was my first mods, this didn't put the cel light on either.
Remap only needed if you fit a sports cat or decat downpipe.

Decatting the 2nd backwards will just add noise, that's all I found, only when I replaced the downpipe with prodrive cat and remap did I notice the difference.
Full decat even more noise, prob pops & bangs maybe flames too lol so they have that going for it.

Over a standard downpipe cat it does...sports cat only a couple of bhp's down plus full decat won't pass an mot.

Stick to what you have planned 2nd cat, centre, bb and you'll be fine no remap needed.....or try and source a sports downpipe cat i.e. prodrive they are often about for sale, then remap it.
