When I took a speedo / dash clocks to bits a few years back out of curiosity, I was surprised to see no replaceable bulbs. The lighting is part of the printed circuit over the whole dash [ and the circuit is about a grands worth - or was - to buy from Subaru.]

I think you might have to call a Stealer and ask if there is a fuse, or another problem that they know about, as I believe that the speedo clock lights etc. ought to work for the life of the car the way they are made.

If you find out it would be helpful to others to know I suspect.

Good luck, David APi

You might have to distract the attention of the MOT-er at that point. I nearly died when I was told the cost of the printed circuit. Not that I wanted one.

It will be cheaper to buy a set of clocks from a breaker if that is the conclusion and then get one of the ' speedo correction experts ' to reset the reading to match your service history. Just insist on making sure that the speedo clock lights are working when you buy. IF you buy.

There MUST be something that does the lighting, either a buklb, or lED soldered into the circuit.

If so, it's surely not beyond the wit of man to UNsolder it and replace it?

It's been done on Defis, and they are WAY more difficult to get into than scoob clocks

If I recall Jeff, they were more like those piezo crystal things that light up. Not an obvious LED. Where do you get the 'new' fittings from?

If you can identify what they are, new ones could be had from either Rapid Electronics, or RS Components.
