Manual Boost Controller - Your thoughts
Hi All,
Just a question really, i bought a Impreza 2004 WRX with an Uprated Turbo (cant remember the model number) - apparently its bigger than the STI one.
Now when i got the car it had stupid boost, thats because the waste gate pipe was off, now if i want to bring the boost level back up - what do you guys think of the Manual Boost Control valves?
Im not sure if this car had one previously as something just seem to have been removed before been sold.
Thanks

Most if not all of the reputable mappers are mobile. If its got a bigger turbo than std, I'd inclined not to drive the car till its been mapped, as it will not be set up right, which potentially blow your engine up!!

Hi there,
No i connected it back up )
To be honest though im new to this scene, but i didnt notice untill i was on the motorway trying to use 4th and 5th and the Fuel kept cutting out, so lucky for me i guess
But if im going to increase the boost, i just want to make sure its getting done right and also by the right person, the only thing that worries me with mobile setups is that the car wont be rolling road tested, is this something that should be done upon a remap?
Thanks

Rolling road isn't always needed for remapping, if its mapped on the road it's real time, the mapper will have detcans on as we'll as a probe in the exhaust. His laptop will be keeping an eye on everything else.

If it is a custom map, your fine. If it's a generic map - or one thats been pulled from another Impreza, don't bother!
Take it to a decent tuner, who comes with at least a few recommendations and you'll be fine.
