High idle after replacing icv
After replacing the idle control valve I have high idle which is around 1500rpm what could it be?

not sure if the classic is the same as newage but did you replace the rubber gasket too??
sounds like its either faulty or an air leak.
take it for a drive and get it warmed up properly and see if its any better

Yea I replaced that Aswell. When it starts it's spot on 1000rpm and then slowly increases.

Sounds like you got a leak, have you tried adjusting the icv?

Yeah I have tried adjusting the valve at the moment it's idling at 1300rpm that about right?

Cold? It should be below 1000

If its idling at 1300 from a cold start its fine but it should`nt be up there when its up to temp, Tap the accelerator to see if it drops, If not more than likely an air leak.

It's still staying at 1300 when up to temp, where is it most common to have a air leak?

No 2nd part from one of the breakers on here. I also give it a quick clean how easy should the end move on the icv.

It should be fairly easy, side to side if nots not moving. Possibly another knackered icv?

Well I popped out the icv this afternoon and give it another good clean. Popped it back in and all is well idles around 900rpm. Thanks for the advice

There was an artical in the last Total Impreza about cleaning the ICV by ScoobyClinic.

Keep your eye on it as the problem could reappear (could not) - I had an old 5 pot bravo that used to do the same with the ICV. Hopefully you have fixed it though!
