Default Hunting idle

well pretty much loooked down all avenues barring going back to mapper.....icv changed, checked for vacuum/boost leaks. Is there any chance it could throttle position sensor or summat daft, run a gems ecu so dont get any codes...HELP!!

Had this a few times does it stop when engine warmed up ?

If you still run a MAF then that is a possibility. I had a similar problem which was sorted by a map tweak, but that was on a Simtec & they can play up a bit.

Mafless, and no it doesn't stop when warmed up.

I'd have another look for an air leak or faulty dump valve if it's not a recuirculated type. Failing that I think your mapper needs to check it out.

Happened on mine. Was moisture in connectors around throttle body. Quite commen from what av found out. Mine in a blob STI.

doesnt the gems have a rep for idle problems
