Default WHAT OIL? - '04 WRX STi UK

Bit of a n00b question - What oil is recommended for spirited driving in my 04 STi?

You guys got any recommendations? Not too bothered about price

Millers Oils NANODRIVE CFS 10w-50 NT Full Synthetic Engine Oil from Alyn @ AS performance. Fantastic stuff, I wouldn't use anything else

Go for a decent 5w-40, unless it's modified heavily

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

Cheers

Tim

+1, although when I had my last service in December they only had the version without the Nano technology. This oil is highly recommended for fast road and track driving, hence the high viscosity levels, 10W-50.

I also had the equivalent put into my diff and gearbox, Millers CRX 75W-90 NT. Just so they were a matching pair and in the hope that one day my wife will let me go and do a track day. She vehemently believes that I will crash and kill myself, so she says she'll leave me if I ever participate in a track day.

Isn't a 50 weight a little thick for normal fast road use? Will require pretty high oil temps to get to the optimal protection.

Yes, if it's just road use without heavy mods, but it's not too far off.

Cheers
