Default Classic Downpipe/Decat question - HELP!

Hi guys, I'm back in the club with a '99 STI which I recently bought from another club member. I have a list of things I want to do to get the car how I want it... and with it, probably a list of questions

My first job is a Nur Spec R exhaust which I have ready and waiting to go on! I looked under the car earlier and the exhaust that is currently fitted is a full Ninja system which appears to be sleeve fitted without bolt flanges to a decat downpipe, making it an incorrect fit for the flange on the Blitz My first instinct was to buy a standard downpipe which would match up with my new zorst but after speaking to the previous owner it appears the car has been remapped... would it cause a problem to the way the car ran to replace the decat with a standard downpipe? My second option is to fit a decat pipe which has the correct fitting to the Blitz. Is this likely to cause boost spiking or any other issues? Also, if I take that option, what are my chances of passing an MOT next time? Any help and advice would be very gratefully received!

If the cars been mapped with a full de-cat system then I wouldn't advise fitting a standard downpipe with cat. Buy another downpipe with no cat and with flange to mate up with your blitz.
With regard to MOT, well it depends how friendly your tester is.

Thanks mate, I've bought another decat pipe so hopefully that'll work out ok... just need to find a friendly MOT tester in Northampton now!

+1 for the above ,a std decat downpipe will mate to your blitz system, so no probs there.
