hi ive not been on here for a while but looking to get another scooby sport been to have a look at one today and checked the radiator and expansion bottle and there was loads of what i can only describe as white foam the oil cap looked clean as did the dipstick the guy said he hadn't got a clue why it was like that and he'd only had the car a few months he left the engine running it wasn't over heating the fan came on and off the heater blew hot and cold inside the car

hes going to get a sniff test done tomorow and let me no

but what do you guys think ?

car passed mot a week ago if that makes a difference or not and its a scooby sport awd 1999 V reg 118k

the guy hasn't got a clue either cant be normal surely for the expansion bottle to be near on full of foam and take the top of the rad and it to come out of there to ?

lmao yeah does look a bit like fairy liquid madness of some sort i thought maybe someone had put screen wash in the coolant reservoir by mistake or something, he said hes had the car only a few months never checked oil or water etc knows nothing about cars and what not uses it daily to and from work 40+ miles and it cant be that bad as it sailed through a mot last week, im just asking on here because ive never seen anything like it i also no nothing about cars but do check oil and water lol may stick to me BMW for a while longer then

Well it's gotta be your choice, if he does 40+ a day in it and the levels are ok. You have to take his word. Info is obviously a struggle, you will will have to get another opinion, or take someone with some knowledge for a second visit!!

very true and dont no anyone to take lol certainly a bit of a gamble, hes taking it for a sniff test thing tomorow and letting me no the outcome.

its like a px mate against my 328i se e46 his scoob and some cash my way just seems i would be letting a whole lot of car go for something basic with issues atm or he wants 1k for it body work bit tatty
