Best bet to get all the coolant out is to take the 2 10mm bolts out of the thermostat housing and pull the stat out, that way you drain the block and radiator.

easiest way for you to drain .
2 ways
looking at the radiator to the left at the very bottom on the side there is a plastic drain.
or if replacing hoses anyway pull bottom hose off and prepare for a wet arm lol.
remember to remove header tank cap .

refill only one way
heater turned to hot
refill via the little pipe that comes off the metal hea der tank and goes onto the turbo
(backwards fill with no chance of air lock)
refill with a funnel slowly till the you see the water level come up into the metal header tank.

if unknown coolant in the system will be worth giving it a light flush through with clean water

expect to use round 7 and 1/2 litres .

i usually buy 5 litres of halfords red antifreeze 5 litres of distilled water mixed the 2 50.50 and you have a top up if ever needed

I have refilled twice via the metal header tank with no airlocks -just take it very slow and keep the cap off and engine speed slightly raised

I'd NOT do it via the header tank: it's too easy to get airlocks.

Just take the pipe furthest to the rear off the header tank and refill via that using a funnel.

Same as Petethemeat, filled two or three times from the header tank with no issues or airlock. Fan on hot in the car, fill her up slowly, start car and wait for the fans to kick in, top up and Goods a Job 'un! just keep checking the fluid over the next week or so....
